Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Saturday Night Showdown ("SNS", "we", "us", "our") — including creating an account, joining a league, or simply browsing the site — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use SNS.

These terms constitute the complete agreement between you and SNS regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.

2. Eligibility

SNS is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have provided an accurate date of birth during signup.
  • You are not prohibited by any applicable law from using fantasy sports platforms or receiving our services.

We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to register or use SNS. Accounts found to belong to minors will be removed without notice.

3. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
  • Keep your login credentials (email, password, or Google sign-in) confidential and not share them with anyone.
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it.
  • Notify us promptly via Support if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not create more than one account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate duplicate accounts.

4. The Service

SNS is a free-to-play college-fantasy sports platform. We provide:

  • Fantasy league creation and management tools (draft, roster management, weekly lineups, scoring, standings).
  • Player and team statistics sourced from the College Football Data (CFBD) API and other third-party data providers.
  • An in-app NIL economy using play-money "NIL Bucks" (see Section 5).
  • Optional premium features available through a paid SNS PRO subscription.
  • Mini-games and interactive features such as Running the Gauntlet and bracket challenges.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the service as a whole at any time. Where reasonably practicable we will provide advance notice of material changes.

5. NIL Economy — Play Money Only

SNS includes an in-app NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) economy. The following terms apply without exception:

  • NIL Bucks are play money. They have no real-world monetary value, no cash equivalent, and cannot be exchanged for real currency at any time.
  • No real-money wagering. SNS is not a gambling platform. No feature of SNS involves risking real money on an uncertain outcome.
  • No redemption path. SNS will never offer to convert, exchange, or redeem NIL Bucks, points, or any other in-app currency for real money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or any item of tangible monetary value.
  • NIL Bucks earned or purchased within SNS are a limited, non-transferable license to use in-app features and have no value outside SNS.
  • We may adjust, reset, or retire in-app currencies at our discretion.

6. Paid Features and Subscriptions

SNS PRO is an optional paid subscription that removes advertising and unlocks certain premium features. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

  • Subscription fees are charged in advance for the period selected (monthly or annually).
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time via your account settings; cancellation stops future charges.
  • Paid features (e.g. PRO) are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.
  • Note: paid features are not currently processing live real-money charges (Stripe is in test mode). This section will be updated when live billing is enabled.

7. Acceptable Use and Community Conduct

You agree not to use SNS to:

  • Cheat, exploit bugs, use bots or automation tools, or manipulate game outcomes in ways that are not part of normal gameplay.
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from SNS without our written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, our servers, or our systems.
  • Disrupt, overload, or interfere with the performance or availability of SNS for other users.
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
  • Use SNS for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

SNS includes chat and messaging features (league chat, group chats, and direct messages). When using them, you additionally agree not to send, post, or share content that is harassing or bullying; threatening or that promotes violence; hateful (including attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation); sexually explicit; that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a minor; that encourages self-harm; spam; fraudulent or a scam; that discloses another person's private information without their consent; or that is otherwise unlawful. Our Community Guidelines describe these rules in plain language and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Your content. You are solely responsible for the content you submit, post, or transmit through SNS ("User Content"), and you represent that you have the right to share it. SNS does not endorse and is not the author, speaker, or publisher of User Content created by users; opinions expressed in User Content are those of the user who posted them. You retain ownership of your User Content and grant SNS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and transmit it as needed to operate and improve the service.

Reporting and moderation. We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to monitor, screen, remove, or restrict access to any User Content and to suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion — including content we consider objectionable even if it is not unlawful. Consistent with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. §230), we operate as a provider of an interactive computer service, and any editorial or moderation decisions we make (or choose not to make) do not make us the publisher or speaker of User Content provided by others. You can report abusive content at any time using the in-chat Report tool or by emailing [email protected]. We may investigate suspected violations and, at our sole discretion, warn, mute, remove content, or suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules.

8. Intellectual Property

SNS and its original content (excluding third-party sports data), features, and functionality are owned by Saturday Night Showdown and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

  • Player statistics and related college football data are provided under license from the College Football Data API and remain the property of their respective owners.
  • College team names, logos, and marks are the property of the respective institutions and athletic conferences. SNS uses such marks solely to identify the relevant teams and players for fantasy game purposes; this use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those institutions.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from SNS content without our prior written consent.
  • Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit to us may be used by us without compensation or attribution to you.

Copyright complaints (DMCA notice and takedown). We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on SNS infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed; (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it; (4) your contact information; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf. Send notices to our designated agent at [email protected] with the subject line "DMCA Notice." If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notification to the same address. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

9. Third-Party Data and Services

SNS incorporates data and functionality from third parties:

  • College Football Data (CFBD): player stats, team information, and game results are sourced from the CFBD API. We do not control the accuracy of this data. Statistical corrections and restatements by the underlying data provider may be reflected in SNS scoring after the fact.
  • Google OAuth: optional sign-in via Google. Use of Google sign-in is subject to Google's Terms of Service.
  • Stripe: payment processing for PRO subscriptions. Use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's Terms of Service.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement.

10. Disclaimers

SNS is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

  • We do not warrant that SNS will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
  • We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party sports statistics displayed in SNS. Final scores and player stats are subject to official NCAA and conference corrections.
  • Fantasy outcomes depend on real-world athletic performance. We make no representations about expected scoring totals, player availability, or game results.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Saturday Night Showdown, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of SNS, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these terms or SNS shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to SNS in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such cases the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Saturday Night Showdown and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of SNS; (b) your violation of these terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right.

13. Account Termination

You may close your account at any time by requesting deletion via Support.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination:

  • Your right to access SNS ceases immediately.
  • In-app NIL Bucks and any other play-money balances are forfeited (they have no real monetary value).
  • Paid PRO subscription fees already charged are not refunded except as required by applicable consumer protection law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may also provide notice by email or an in-app banner. Your continued use of SNS after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using SNS.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

If you have a dispute with SNS, please contact us first at [email protected] and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it in good faith. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of Idaho, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. There is no mandatory binding arbitration and no class-action waiver.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and SNS regarding the service.
  • Severability: if any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver: our failure to enforce any provision of these terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment: you may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights freely.
  • Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
