You're in the championship game. Every decision this week matters more than every decision you've made all season combined. Here's how to approach the final week with clarity.

Assess your situation first

Are you projected to win or lose? This one factor changes your entire approach.

  • Projected favorite: Play your safest lineup. Maximize floor. A projected winner who plays boom-or-bust players and loses to a 60-point dud is the quintessential fantasy tragedy.
  • Projected underdog: You need upside. This is the one week where ceiling beats floor. Swap a safe 10-point player for a volatile 4-or-25 player if you need the big swing.

Matchup stacking

Stacking means starting two players from the same game, ideally from the same offense (a QB and his WR1). When the game script favors passing volume, both players benefit simultaneously. This is a ceiling-raising move — use it when you need points, not when you're sitting on a lead.

The streaming temptation

Championship week is when managers convince themselves to start a hot free agent they just picked up over a proven starter. Resist this unless the matchup difference is dramatic. Proven production beats hot streaks in single-elimination games.

The decision you can't take back

Lock your lineup before games start and leave it alone. Championship losses caused by a Sunday morning panic swap — moving out a player who had a great early game — are the worst losses in fantasy. Commit to your research, set the lineup, and watch.
